Elevate Your Game

There is a great quote for athletes that reads:

Bad players don’t take many things seriously. Average players take games seriously. Good players take training and games seriously. Great players take training, warm-ups, academics, nutrition, weight room, film study, being a great teammate and games seriously.

One of the things that I love about athletics is that there are so many lessons that can be applied to everyday life. I like this quote because it shows that to be successful you need to focus on all aspects of development. Success on the court, at home, or in the workplace takes fully committing to improving yourself physically, mentally, and socially.

We here at Parks and Recreation strive to be a part of your holistic approach to improving yourself and reaching your highest level of success. Here are three brand new activities designed specifically to do that: 

  • If you are looking to meet new people and explore our natural world, then you will want to sign up for the “Walks by Water” hiking series. This series of four hikes will take you to some of our region’s most scenic trails by lakes and streams. 
  • If you are a senior looking to stay fit and active, then you will want to sign up for our “Weights for Wellness” class where a personal trainer will closely work with you to become stronger.
  • If you are looking to learn a new skill and develop your artistic talents then you will want to sign up for, “Watercolor Expressions” where you will learn the art of painting and self-expression.
